Xandra Farkas

Xandra Farkas is an independent executive and non-executive advisor to insurance companies, asset management, fintech firms, banks and corporations, specialising in strategic risk management, governance and regulatory strategy across international markets.

As a Swiss Certified Actuary (SAA) and former Financial Risk Management Specialist at FINMA, she brings a rare combination of regulatory insight, data mining, actuarial expertise and executive-level advisory experience.

At FINMA, she contributed to the supervision of cross-border financial systems and capital adequacy frameworks, gaining deep insight into regulatory strategy and systemic risk. In her subsequent career, she held senior roles across industry and consulting, including at Zurich Insurance, Aon and as Head Actuary Western Europe at Willis Towers Watson, where she advised boards and CROs on solvency, data transformation, enterprise risk management and strategic optimisation across multiple jurisdictions.

As a former Managing Director of the University of Zurich’s Blockchain Center, she bridged academia and industry in digital finance and innovation. Alongside her advisory work, she lectures at the University of Zurich on regulatory challenges and, as an advisor to the Swiss Risk Association, shapes forward discussions on evolving regulatory landscapes through dedicated events and initiatives.

Her work focuses on AI-driven risk optimisation, resilient governance frameworks and the development of trusted digital ecosystems. She actively contributes to a broad dialogue on AI governance, digital trust and cross-border regulatory collaboration.
